IBAN with wrong check digits in D406

How it shows in our report

SAFT-ID-02 · Header/Company/BankAccount/IBANNumber · RO49AAAA1B31007593840001

What it means

An IBAN has two check digits (after the country code) verified with mod 97. ANAF's validator checks length and format but accepted an IBAN with one wrong digit in our tests.

Why it matters

ANAF uses D406 for risk analysis and compares it with the VAT return (D300) and D394. Mismatches like this do not block filing, but can lead to compliance letters or requests for clarification.

Common causes

How to fix it

  1. Copy the IBAN from a statement or the contract.

Check your D406 file before filing it

We run ANAF's validator for your period plus the checks ANAF only does after filing: trial balance, balances, ledger totals, VAT, CUIs and IBANs. One free check per day.
